Change to Claiming Format
Even in the worst of times, we look for a silver lining.
Nisaki, our third mod, has been offline for most of the past 24 hours. She was able to get on temporarily today to let us know that her city has been placed under an open-ended curfew and the Internet was cut for a good portion of that time. It's back now, but due to the ongoing political protests, there's no guarantee it will remain that way.
DON'T PANIC. The good news is that Nisaki and her family are okay, even though it's a scary situation for everyone.
The bad news is that besides being a great writer and artist, Nisaki is also our amazing forms guru, and none of us know what her connectivity will be this weekend. Moreover, real life has got to be her first concern right now, for all the obvious reasons.
The silver lining to this (we can hear the cheers from some of you already) is that because of this, we will be using the old method of responding to the claims post with comments.
phoenix1966 will take point on this, with
casey679 providing support and keeping an spreadsheet updated just for folks who want to see an easy summary of the results.
It's frustrating to not be able to offer more than positive thoughts in a time like this, but if you haven't read or seen any of her creations, now's a great time to check them out and maybe leave a positive comment or two. It'd be a nice surprise to be waiting for her when things calm down over there!
Tomorrow, we will post the traditional template we would like you to use for claiming on Saturday. And this will be that rare time we will be emailing all participants so that for those of you not on LJ, etc. will be aware of this last-minute change.
