We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to everyone who participated in this round. I don't think any of us anticipated that we would be still be in the middle of a pandemic before this wrapped, but just remember that you brought a lot of comfort and joy to people when they needed it the most.

The comm will be locked to new postings from members (you can continue to comment on existing posts), but those of you who have WiPs will still be able to edit your posts to adjust word counts and such. In a few days, we will be posting a masterpost for this round and a poll to see if folks might be interested in another round in the future.

Once again, thanks to all of you for bringing us a much-needed Happily Ever After!

We've puttered along through the challenge, but it seems like maybe forces are conspiring against some of our participants, throwing up roadblocks to the Happy Endings our characters deserve. And maybe having the challenge end near the Ides of March wasn't the most auspicious date (yes, I am re-watching HBO's Rome at the moment). So...

April 11th is the official Amnesty Day for this challenge. And to make it as easy as possible for people, the comm will stay open through that date, so that you can post your creations anytime between now and then. Please don't hesitate to post now if you've finished, but we understand that many of you want to polish up your entry and that takes a little extra time.

Last year we saw our beloved show come to an end, but that doesn't mean the desire to still tell their stories has, so lets do our best to give these characters all the happy endings!

We are at the halway point and on the downhill side to March 14th, our finish line (and White Day!).

We've seen some wonderful art and gotten to read some amazing stories so far, so let's not stop now! I know many of you are chugging away on your creations and we cannot wait to see the rest of them!

We've known and loved (and gotten angry, yelled at and teared up with) these characters for 15 years/seasons. Let's bring these boys home and give them the endings they deserve! I know we can do it.

This is it, Meanttobers! It's almost time for the posting to begin once more!

We will open the comm up on Sunday, February 14th (a.k.a. Valentine's Day) and the comm will stay open for thirty days so that you can post when you're ready.

Following tradition, please use this template when posting:

If you are posting your work to Ao3, please consider attaching your work to the Spn Meant To Be Master Collection. Under the option "Post to Collections/Challnges" add "spn_meanttobe".

For those participants who are not LJ members (or anyone having trouble posting), please don't hesitate to email us (phoenix1966.lj@gmail.com) with your info and story/art links and we will post for you. As a reminder, you do not have to post your work to LJ, but you must post your links here first please.

Who's chomping at the bit to post? Give us your best shot and, if you're not quite finished, remember that you've got thirty days left to give the fellas a happy ending! We can not wait to see what you've got!

Hard to believe, but we are one week away from the start of posting!

Now, some of you might be panicking like I am. You're saying to yourself, "I won't be ready in a week!". Remember that posting is open and for an entire month (until March 14th), so you'll have plenty of time to get your contribution ready!

For those of you that are raring to go, the comm will open to all on the 14th. On the 12th, we'll post a template for you to use when formatting your post.

Hard to believe that we've finally put 2020 in our rearview mirror. However, 2021 has had a rocky start for many, which is why we're so happy to remind you all that open posting for our fandom challenge starts in one month!

We understand that many of you might be overwhelmed with real life issues at the moment and hope that this challenge will at least provide you all with something light and fun to occupy some of your valuable, free time and energy.

This weekend we'll make another post regarding beta resources (as well as request that anyone who has time for that to let us all know) and a hopefully fun poll to guage where we all are in our various creations!

Smile, think happy (and naughty) thoughts and remember...it was Meant To Be!

Note: Not all authors & artists who claim the same prompt are collaborations, and our default assumption is that each creator is doing their own thing unless/until they tell us otherwise. If you ARE collaborating, let us know and we’ll update the list!

Feel free to reach out to someone who has the same prompt as you if you are interested in collaborating, but please be respectful of the other person if they decline. Understand that the other creator may already have a firm vision of what they'd like to do and it doesn't line up with yours (they want to do a different pairing, setting, etc.).

We've had some requests to extend this year's sign-up deadline because 2020 has been full of stress and uncertainty, and we agree!

To try to make sure everyone gets a chance at their happy endings, we're extending sign-ups until 11:59pm on November 5th! You can sign-up to participate here - artists and authors both welcome! (Sign-ups will be added to the participant list as we receive them.)

Note, previews of the romance plot prompts will still go up as scheduled on November 5th! That means if you're on the fence but see a few that inspire you, you can still sign up that day, before claims begin!
